WHAT IF A BOOK COULD BECOME A WORLD.

The 27s began with a fascination: why had so many influential musicians died at 27? What started as a research project became an illustrated book–and ultimately, an original entertainment property built around the remarkable history we uncovered.

WE WENT LOOKING FOR THE NAMES. WE FOUND THE HISTORY OF MUSIC INSTEAD.

In 2005, a fascination with the musicians who died at 27 became a research project to determine who actually belonged on the list.

What we discovered was bigger: a way to retell the history of modern music through the artists who died at 27.

That became The 27s: The Greatest Myth of Rock & Roll.

THE VISION

THE BOOK WAS ONLY THE BEGINNING.

The world we'd created had the potential to become something much larger.

A film and television option with producing partner Shout! Studios moved The 27s beyond publishing and into entertainment development—beginning a multi-year effort to reimagine the property for the screen.

THE RELATIONSHIPS

BIG IDEAS NEED PEOPLE WHO CAN BUILD THEM

We assembled an entertainment development team spanning showrunners, writers, producers, animation, music, legal and artist rights—bringing together the expertise required to transform an original book into a viable screen property.

Today, The 27s exists as a developed entertainment property with the creative foundation, relationships and development work in place for its next stage.
